Public libraries and the Internet / NREN : defining roles in the network

This paper summarizes an investigation of the role of public libraries in developing and exploiting the next generation of national networks as presently embodied in the Internet/NREN. The study intends to identify a range of roles, services, and responsibilities for the public library community as it becomes an "electronic intermediary."
