The comeback

During a vaudeville show in a working class cabaret, Max a young boxer (played by Max Schmeling) challenges a local strongman to a fight on stage. Although he loses the fight, his popularity with the cabaret audience captures the attention of a boxing promoter who signs the young Max to a contract. By the end of the film, after a rags to riches career and a spectacular comeback, the now famous boxer is approached by an American journalist who encourages him to try his luck in New York. In short order, Max marries his sweetheart and sails away with her to America.
