  • "Wer zuletzt lacht, lacht am besten: In einer Ulme bei Pearblossom legt Frau Krähe täglich ihr Ei, das von der Schlange lachend zum Frühstück verspiesen wird. Völlig aufgebracht findet Herr Krähe seine Frau vor. Er geht zum alten Uhu, um sich Rat zu holen. Der bastelt mit ihm zwei Eier aus Schlamm, malt sie so an, dass sie aussehen wie echte Eier und legt sie ins Krähennest. Die Schlange fällt auf den Trick herein und verschlingt heisshungrig die harten Eier. Bald bekommt sie fürchterlich Bauchweh. Sie windet sich vor Schmerz und verknotet sich am Baum. Frau Krähe kann nun endlich ihre Eier ausbrüten und nach kurzer Zeit schon flattern siebzehn Krähenküken durch die Gegend. Die Schlange dient der Mutter als Wäscheleine und den herumwuselnden Vogelkinder als Spielzeug. Es ist die einzige, wirklich köstliche Kindergeschichte des Autors mit amüsanten schwungvoll gezeichneten Farbbildern. Ab 3 Jahren, ausgezeichnet, Denise Racine."
