Correspondents include: Hopkins's parents Archibald and Mary Curtis Hopkins; his uncle Sewall Hopkins; his brothers Albert, a professor of astronomy at Williams, and Henry; his wife Mary Hubbell Hopkins; his children, especially Archibald and Henry, who described his service as a Union chaplain in the Civil War; and various Curtis and Hopkins relatives. Early correspondence includes letters from Sewall Hopkins to his brother Archibald about farming in Clinton, N.Y. and Stockbridge, Mass. Other correspondents include Amos A. Lawrence, Ray Palmer, and Theodore Dwight Weld.
