Memories of J. Ross Tennant, and a genealogy of the family originated by Richard Tennant
Richard Tennant (1744-1822) immigrated in 1760 from Scotland to indenturehood near Moorefield, Hardy County, Virginia (later West Virginia), and married Sarah Haught in 1769. He served in the Revo- lutionary War, and later moved to Monongalia County, Virginia (later West Virginia). Descendants and relatives lived in West Virginia, Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, Pennsylvania, South Carolina and elsewhere. Vol. 4 includes ancestry in Scotland.
