John Stapleton was the son of Allan of Stapylton. He married Jane, daughter of Sir Anketian Mallory, in about 1150. They had two known sons, Benedict and Geoffrey. Traces their descendants through the mid-1700s. Some more recent descendants are also included. Descendants and relatives lived in Ireland, England, Belgium, the Leeward Islands and elsewhere.
