"The 1993 Population Abstract of the United States is designed to provide current and historical population totals in a convenient and easy to use format. Information is organized alphabetically by state. Each state section contains: a brief history of the formation of the state; a breakdown of urban and rural population from the earliest census to the present; current and historical population totals for all counties and incorporated places of 10,000 or more; and 1990 population totals for county subdivisions and places in the United States. An extensive index lists all places included in this work, followed by the county and state in which each is located. The Rank and Population tables follow the index. These rankings are divided into two sections, one for counties and one for cities. The geographic divisions used in this book are defined by the U.S. Census Bureau"--Pref.
