Globale Ereignisse stimulieren zumindest punktuell einen grenzüberschreitenden, transnationalen politischen Diskurs. Esther Konieczny stellt in ihrer Studie zum einen die Frage nach dem Ausmaß und den Formen der Transnationalisierung. Zum anderen untersucht sie, welche Strukturen Diskursiver Macht sich im Kontext globaler Kommunikationsereignisse abbilden: Folgt der zunehmenden Verlagerung politischer Macht auf übernationale Ebene auch eine Verlagerung Diskursiver Macht in öffentlichen Debatten? Der US-amerikanische und deutsche Diskurs über die Finanzkrise und die UN-Klimakonferenzen werden zur Beantwortung der gestellten Forschungsfragen vergleichend untersucht.
