"Two English children on a Nazi-occupied Channel Island plan their escape."@en
"On summer holiday in the English Channel Islands in 1940, teenagers Caroline and Mick unexpectedly find themselves desperately trying to escape from arriving German invaders."@en
"Although Mick and Caroline Templeton went to school in England, they spent their holidays on Clerinel, a little Franco-British island in the English Channel. Their home, their family, their freinds, and above all their ponies were there, and war and the threat of invasion seemed very remote. So when the Germans suddenly pounced on the island, Mick and Caroline were horrified to be stranded on the quay in the confusion of evacuation. Helplessly they watched their father and brother steaming away, while they heard for the first time the tramp of German soldiers. Alone in an enemy-occupied country they went into hiding, and decided to stay and try to sabotage the enemy's invasion plans. Every day they stayed the risk of discovery grew greater, but their courage and enterprise increased."@en
