The Dublin Core metadata initiative : the Frankfurt focus and the year 2000
"The Dublin Core Metadata Initiative (DCMI) [DC-HOME] is nearing the fifth anniversary of what has become the broadest international, interdisciplinary effort in resource description on the Internet. It is the leading initiative for improving resource discovery on the Web. Die Deutsche Bibliothek in Frankfurt hosted the 7th of the series of international metadata workshops of this 5-year-old initiative. This article reviews the progress made during 1999 and summarizes some of the developments resulting from the Frankfurt meeting and how these developments can be expected to shape DCMI activities for the year 2000."
