http://schema.org/description

  • "The life story of Mildred Wirt Benson, who began her career as a ghostwriter in the late 1920s, authored 23 of the first 30 Nancy Drew novels as Carolyn Keene and was responsible for the development of the character as an independent, bold and risk-taking female sleuth. Using archival photographs and interviews, the documentary traces Millie's days as a student at the University of Iowa, a children's book author under her own name and a variety of pseudonyms, a court reporter for the Toledo Times and a weekly columnist for the Toledo Blade. Her contributions were acknowledged in the 1993 Nancy Drew Conference at the University of Iowa and she was named to the Ohio Women's Hall of Fame."
