Collection includes items from the Society's holdings: the will of Richard Mather and an account of Mather's and John Cotton's roles in the Westminster Assembly; an account of the settlement of Plymouth, Mass.; notebooks of sermons collected by David Clapp, 1703-58; letters from John Adams concerning his policies toward France and her increasing belligerence; letters from Robert Morris discussing land speculation; correspondence from Gov. Francis Lovelace to Gov. John Winthrop concerning the establishment of mail service between New York and Connecticut; a biography of Gov. William Stoughton; a document annexing Thompson's Island to Boston; and a receipt book from a Boston almshouse.
