Henry IV. [Pts. 1-2]

Against a background of Civil War, Prince Hal, the heir to the throne, appears to waste his youth irresponsibly among the low life of the London taverns, in the company of the self-indulgent, treacherous, irresponsible Sir John Falstaff. The boisterous comedy of the tavern scenes and the political tensions between the King and the rebels lead to the Battle of Shrewsbury, at which the Prince redeems himself.
