Deed, 1819, for land in Ill. which was received as a military bounty by Clark and sold to Joseph Watson, Washington, D.C., for $75. The deed was signed by Clark, D. Carter, and Thomas Lyon, Justice of the Peace, Mackinac County (Mich.), before whom the deed was acknowledge on July 1, 1819. The deed was also signed on the back by Wm. Woodbridge, Secretary of Mich., Sept. 9, 1819. The bounty was given in conjuction with a law of May 6, 1812. The deed is ripped along fold lines and has been repaired with document tape.
