"This work presents in a concise form the first part of the exile of the Emperor. It is also in this phase that Napoleon is the most humane. That is, somehow, a summary of what will be his life during these years at St. Helena. This part of the Mémorial de Saint-Hélène extends the return of the Emperor to Paris three days after Waterloo, until he moved to Longwood in the island of St. Helena. The story that covers these few months (June 20 to December 10, 1815) is a whole delimited. It is basically the prologue of the drama that embraces the departure from France, the letter to the Prince Regent of England, the ambush of Plymouth, the solemn protest of Napoleon in the face of the world, arrived in St. Helena, learning exile."
