"Manuscript copy of the York Breviary, starting imperfectly with the second Sunday after Easter, which corresponds to vol. 1, col. 448 in the 19th-century Surtees edition. The manuscript roughly follows the Surtees edition until fol. 109r, when it proceeds directly to the Sanctoral cycle, beginning with the feast of St. Andrew the Apostle (vol. 2, col. 83 in the edition). Unlike the edition, which has the Common of Saints before the Sanctoral, this version sets the Common at the end of the text, which concludes imperfectly at 271v. Lacking the subsequent quire, it terminates in the midst of a reading from Bede's commentary on the Gospel of Luke (cf. CCSL, 120; StegmĖˆuller, 1614) , to be read for a confessor who was not a bishop (corresponding to vol. 2, col. 44 in the Surtees edition)." . . . . "Gothic scripts" .
