In the first segment, Moyers interviews Jessica Tuchman Mathews, president of the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, on coercive inspections versus pre-emptive regime change and its implications for the United Nations and the world. In the second segment, Dr. Marc Siegel, assistant professor of medicine at New York University, discusses how drug advertising by pharmaceutical companies has affected patients and the practice of medicine in recent years. The third segment is a NOW interview of John Brady Kiesling, former political counselor at the United States Embassy in Athens, Greece. Kiesling resigned his post as a protest against U.S. policy toward Iraq. The final segment remembers Fred Danback, an employee of Anaconda Wire & Cable Co. In 1971, he and the Hudson River Fishermen's Association worked with the U.S. Attorney's office to convice the company of dumping toxic waste into the Hudson River.
