Pyne Point

In Pyne Poynt, the most dangerous neighborhood Camden, NJ, the city with the highest homicide rate in America, the sounds of baseball and the laughter of children momentarily replace the sounds of gunfire and the calls of drug dealers. Players of the North Camden Little League must navigate a set of drug corridors, Heroin Highway, to come to and from the sandlot. The league creates a refuge for youth from the trauma of violence and crime in their impoverished neighborhood. Camden is the poster child of post-industrial decay in America. Pyne Poynt is a documentary about life and death on one small, grassless oasis where the chances of success aren't good but where the phrase "hitting it out of the park" takes on new meaning. Each at-bat, each inning, and each game the team plays is one more positive tally mark on life's bigger scoreboard.
