In Search of Dan Cooper

During the Cold War, a fighter pilot held watch over the gates of democracy. The legendary comic book hero Dan Cooper was an entirely fictional character created by Franco-Belgian Albert Weinberg, inspired by Canadian military pilots stationed in Europe after WWII. The Dan Cooper series was a huge hit in the comic book world, with 45 issues and over 22 million copies sold! Dan Cooper may have enjoyed fame across Europe, but he would remain largely unknown to his Canadian compatriots, and in the US his name would be closely linked to one of the FBI's most notorious unsolved cases. This documentary sheds some light on the character's history as it walks the line between two realms.
