"In 1987 the scope of the series was broadened to include undergraduate teaching in general rather than the earlier, more limited emphasis on the introductory course. The series now included lectures that would update the materials in three of the topics usually included in undergraduate curricula, one on a relatively nontraditional topic, and one on some pedagogical aspect of undergraduate psychology teaching. /// The 1988 Lectures followed this pattern. The three basic topics included one on emotions, by Carroll Izard; one on the history of psychology by Laurel Furumoto; and one on clinical psychology, by Martin Seligman. The less traditional topic covered in this set of lectures was sport psychology, presented by Michael Mahoney. The series concluded with a lecture by Richard Mayer on the teaching of critical thinking. (PsycINFO Database Record (c) 2004 APA, all rights reserved)"
