In the highly developed and rapidly changing coastal zone of west-central Florida, a fine line is emerging between vigorous economic growth and the preservation of the natural environment. This report attempts to resolve some of the issues regarding the composition, interactions and value of the living resources in this area and to assist in future resource development and management by providing an extensive review and synthesis of available literature on the ecology of the Tampa Bay drainage basin.
