Gives his reason for believing contrary to "Lee and the rest" that Shakespeare's father could write. Comments on the Shakespearian criticism of Mrs. Charlotte Stopes. [5] 1915, January 29 [2 l.].--He discusses the distribution of an edition of Aphra Behn's works recently published by the Shakespeare Head Press. Expresses sympathy for Bertram Dobell and Robert Grant Martin. [6] 1915, April 6 [1 l.].--He discusses orders for the Shakespeare Head Press edition of Aphra Behn's works. Comments on Robert Grant Martin. [7] 1916, April 15 [2 p.].--Sends a photograph. States that people use to mistake him for Mark Twain. He does not feel qualified to answer Sherman's inquiry about the staging of Shakespearean plays."

[10] 1918, November 26 [2 p.].--He agrees that Stratford should be made a world center for Elizabethan studies, and says he hopes that after the conclusion of the war funds will be available for this project."
