Sculptural artists' book consisting of: 7 sheets of handmade paper (88 x 58 cm.); 1 piece of curled eucalyptus bark (84 cm.) to which are tied 14 pieces of paper in the shape of eucalyptus leaves (14-26 cm.); and various lose, dried plants. When assembled the work resembles an open book with the sheets forming two piles on either side of the eucalyptus bark, which functions as the book's spine. The loose, dried plants are placed under each sheet to provide support and add height. The leaf-shaped pieces of paper bear the colophon, a note on the fabrication of the sheets, and text about the medicinal uses of plants found in the area and used in the fabrication of the work. The two accompanying volumes each contain photographs of a sheet of the handmade paper lying outside of Geisel Library near plants used in the fabrication of the work, the verso of each leaf bears the name of the plant featured; vol. 1 also bears title.
