Dynasty of fear

Beth Miller had been at Falconhurst less than a day when, in the wee hours of the morning, she was unnerved by a taping on her bedroom door, and then amazed to find her nocturnal visitor was her new employer. He had a tale to tell of the accidental deaths of his parents and a brother, each an accidental death occurring on or near the sea and just six months apart. Now the next six-month period was drawing to a close. And his instructions to Beth were: if the young boy who was her charge seemed to be threatened, she should flee the premises with the child and hide him.
