The account of an exploration of the Finlay River was long attributed to John Finlay. Also in the volume are explanatory notes by Charles N. Bell (2 leaves) and transcript of an article re Black from The Beaver, June 1928 (4 leaves). With this, in a separate folder: letter, Sept. 23, 1927, from J.B. Tyrrell to Charles N. Bell; and letter, Dec. 16, 1927, from J.N. Wallace to Charles N. Bell, identifying the writer of the journal as Samuel Black, not John Finlay.
