"Catalogue de l'exposition présentée à la galerie du Jeu de Paume à Paris du 28 septembre 2010 au 6 février 2011, au Fotomuseum de Winterthur du 26 février au 15 mai 2011, au Martin-Gropius-Bau à Berlin du 11 juin au 11 septembre 2011 et au Magyar Nemzeti Muzeum à Budapest du 30 septembre au 31 décembre 2011. André Kertész (Budapest, 1894 - New York, 1985) n'a jamais vu son œuvre faire l'objet d'une véritable rétrospective en Europe, bien qu'il ait fait don de tous ses négatifs à l'État français. Il est pourtant l'un des photographes majeurs du XXe siècle tant du point de vue de la richesse de son œuvre que de la longévité de sa carrière. Pour la première fois, une exposition monographique lui est consacrée et le catalogue qui l'accompagne, réunissent un ensemble conséquent d'épreuves et de documents qui permettent d'explorer les différentes époques de sa vie et de son parcours d'auteur."
