The beast of Whixall Moss

At the age of eleven Jack is resigned to his world, living out on lonely Whixall Moss with nothing to do. Then one day he finds a boat hidden on the creek, and in the boat a fabulous beast. At once he is determined to own it, but the mysterious inhabitants of the boat have other ideas, and in the struggles that follow, Jack's world is changed for ever.
