  • "Spence Douthit, is forced to abandon rural life with his family and move to the big city for lack of work. There, the government will convince recruiters with cheap whiskey and black lace panties to give to the women of the family to accept permanent employment as unskilled laborer in a gunpowder factory and a house in a slum. Currently, Spence is out of work, with a woman bedridden and addicted to a pharmaceutical tonic and a daughter (the one who brings money to the family) to be married to a veteran. They also have a 13 year old daughter but does not live with them; after being raped by a camel in the neighborhood, he escaped and moved to a brothel where she works. In addition the Government threatens to imminently deshauciarles. Child prostitution, girls who leave their homes by a nice pair of shoes or a hot meal, men who have lost faith in themselves; This is the environment that surrounds the Douthit family. Spence becomes obsessed with rescuing his daughter from prostitution, motivated by the welfare of the government, to seek a decent husband (which turn out to be a pimp); consequently complicate the plot tragically."

Spence se obsesionar con rescatar a su hija de la prostitucin, motivado por la asistencia social del Gobierno, buscndole un marido decente (el cual resultar ser un proxeneta); consecuentemente la trama se complicar de forma trgica."
