However another man, Asa Brown, also has his eyes on Dixie. Arriving back in town after tracking down a gang of horse thieves, Canfield hears screaming and investigates. He exchanges gunshots with a man attacking Dixie who flees. Learning it was Brown, Canfield confronts him.
