Chiefly a record of some of the descendants of George Mason I. He was born in 1629 to Thomas Mason and Ann French. He is know as the "immigrant". He married Mary French. Later he married Frances Norgrave. His son George is known as the "Cavalier", his grandson George is known as the "Colonel".

"George Mason I (1629-1686?) was a son of Thomas Mason and Ann French, and immigrated from England to land along the Potomac River in Northumberland County, Virginia in 1651 or 1652. George Mason II (1660-1716) was the immigrant's son and was called "the cavalier." George Mason III (1690-1735) was the third generation in Virginia, and was called "the colonel." George Mason IV (1725-1792) was the author of the Virginia Declaration of Rights during the Revolu- tionary period. George Mason V (1753-1796) moved to Lexington, Kentucky. Descendants and relatives lived in Virginia, Maryland, Kentucky, Louisiana, Texas and elsewhere. Includes some ancestors in England."@en
