Ward brothers, champions of the world
- "William Henry (Hank), Joshua, Gilbert and Ellis Fox Ward, five of the nine sons of Isaac and Winifred Ward, lived at Middle Hope and Cornwall-on-Hudson, New York, and became the rowing champions of the world in 1871 in a competition at Saratoga, New York. They were direct descendants of Andrew Ward (ca.1597-1659), who immigrated from England to Watertown, Massachusetts in 1630. Descendants lived in New England, New York and elsewhere. Includes Ward ancestry in England to about 1500."
