The Henry McBride family of Fayette Township, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, 1740-1840 : the family of a Revolutionary War veteran
Henry McBride (b.ca1733-1809) was probably born in Scotland. He married Gennet Alexander (sometimes Jane) prior to 1755 in Scotland, but fled to Ireland to escape persecution. In 1764, they emigrated to America from Ulster, Ireland and landed at Baltimore, MD. They migrated from Maryland and settled in the forests along Montour Run, west of Fort Pitt in the early 1770's. Their son Archibald was born in Maryland about 1765. They were the parents of at least seven children. Their son Archibald married Agnes (Nancy) Elliott, the daughter of George Elliott of Scotland and Pennsylvania. Family members were located in Fayette Twp., Allegheny Co., PA. Ten generations of descendants are given.
