In this novel of high jinks and low politics our hero is the young campaign manager for a long-winded politico. His candidate's integrity is publicly (and rightfully) challenged by a beautiful blond heckler with a briefcase full of damaging evidence. How to meet her and latch onto that briefcase? That's just one element in the obstacle course that deters our hero. It includes his not-very-understanding fiancée, his drunken landlady, his opposite member in the rival camp and assorted entertaining characters.
