Marrow

"Marrow is a series of Annals of the New York Academy of Sciences. Each issue presents original research manuscripts on topics in basic, translational, and clinical bone and bone marrow biology and medicine, as well as related scholarly reviews, perspectives, commentaries, technical reports, and brief communications. The scope of Marrow includes regenerative biology, osteoimmunology, intercellular signaling, integrative physiology, hematopoietic malignancies, contribution of bone marrow to metastatic disease, translational models and therapeutic considerations of diseases of bone and bone marrow, developmental aspects of bone marrow and bone, and hematopoiesis. The inaugural issue contains a Commentary questioning the link between bisphosphonate use and atypical fractures; two perspective articles, one on the role of ectoenzymes in myeloma, the other on bone marrow as a metastatic site of neuroblastoma; four review articles on (1) bone marrow stem cells, (2) the osteoblastic niche in the context of multiple myeloma, (3) notch signaling in the malignant bone marrow microenvironment, and (4) the function and regulation of primary cilia in the skeleton; and two original articles presenting new research on (1) follicle stimulating hormone receptor in mesenchymal stem cell signaling of reproductive hormones and (2) CB1 cannabinoid receptor mediation of endochondral skeletal growth retardation by tetrahydrocannabinol"--Publisher's description.
