George Hume (1698-1760), second son of Sir George Hume of Scotland, after being imprisoned for participating in the Jacobite rebellion in 1715, immigrated in 1721 to Spotsylvania County, Virginia. He married Elizabeth Proctor in 1727, and later moved to Culpeper County, Virginia. Descendants and relatives lived in Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Alabama, Tennessee, Mississippi, Kentucky, Georgia, Arizona and elsewhere. Includes family history and genealogical data about ancestry in Scotland, England and elsewhere.
