"Volume 30: In 1988, Bob Moses founded the Algebra Project, with a mission to spread math literacy and encourage teenagers to organize and make demands on their school system. In turn, an outgrowth of the Algebra Project is the Young People's Project (YPP) where young people organize their peers. In this session, YPP members explain and demonstrate how their work is structured around simple tools for building relationships. Young "math literacy workers" and organizers divide the meeting attendees into small groups or "Neighbors Circles." They are encouraged to share their experiences and discover each other's areas of interest."@en
