An Enemy of the People is a five-act drama about one Doctor Thomas Stockmann, a medical officer who finds the water in the public baths to be contaminated. When he refuses to be silenced, he is declared an "enemy of the people". The Wild Duck is a five-act drama about the Ekdal family and one man, Gregers Werle, who has an unfortunate compulsion to always tell the "truth", no matter what the cost. That is, he reveals to the family unasked-for information about each family member's past. This unsolicited knowledge eventually destroys their family life, as well as the Ekdals' daughter, who kills herself after one of Werle's revelations.
