Sherlock Holmes and the Lufton Lady

While in school, Sherlock Holmes tutored Edward Alderbee, and so met Edward's twin sister, Katherine. The two were immediately attracted to each other, but as Holmes was a squire's son with few prospects, the family turned to Uncle Edward for help on keeping Katherine firmly on course to make a good marriage. In the pages of his diary, Uncle Edward reflects on his own denied love, records the circumstances of his nephew's death, and how Holmes worked to protect the honor of the family and the woman he loved.
