The Smith-Spilman lineage

Thomas Wildman Smith (1730-1810) and his wife, Mary Smith (1737-1770) were married in 1763. They had three children, 1764-1768. They all probably died young. He married 2) Hannah Collier of Kettering, England, in 1775. They had four children, 1775-1784. All died young except one son. Their son, Samuel Collier Smith (1782-1851), was born at London, England. He married Rebecca Harrop Lovell (1787-1866) in 1805. They had eleven children, 1806-1829. The family immigrated to the United States in 1812, and settled first at Boston, Massachusetts. The family was living at Providence, Rhode Island, by 1814, and at Baltimore, Maryland, by 1818. Their daughter, Sophia Caroline Smith (1829-1926), married Alexander Baldwin Spilman (1829-1880) in 1854. They had six children, 1854-1868. He died at Baltimore. She was living with a daughter in Washington, D.C. at the time of her death. She was buried at Baltimore.
