William Gaylord (d.1673) immigrated in 1629/1630 from England to Dorchester, Massachusetts, and moved in 1638/1639 to Windsor, Connecticut. Descendants and relatives lived in New England, New York, Pennsylvania, Maryland and elsewhere. The Wyoming massacre occurred in the Wyoming valley of Luzerne County, Pennsylvania.
