Religions of small societies

Examines the religious rituals and myths of many small groups of indigenous peoples living around the world, as well as pagan, Wiccan, and Voodoo groups, and analyzes them based on geographical concentration, historical development, and the type of religious concepts these societies embrace. From the Ainu of northern Japan to the Indians of North America, discusses common beliefs and practices that bind these societies on a spiritual level. Shows how these small societies have maintained their cultural identities in the face of Western ideology and the possible extinction or assimilation of their cultures by neighbouring industrial and technological societies.
