Tommy Telford has connections with a Chechen gangster who's bringing refugees to Britain as prostitutes. Detective Inspector John Rebus' daughter is killed shortly after he takes takes a Bosnian call girl under his wings. Rebus will do whatever it takes to nail suspect Tommy Telford.
