Transcript made by the Bancroft Library, 1923, of a copy of the Ms., accompanied by a letter from Charles L. Camp giving its history, and a typed copy of an obituary written by De Witt Clinton Peters, 1868, for the Army and Navy Journal. The original Ms., dictated to Jesse B. Turley, was afterward turned over to Peters, for use in his biography of Carson, and is now in the Newberry Library.
