Biographical papers contain a copy of a biography of Weatherby, by Una Weatherby, including background material such as letters and photographs; correspondence, 1910-1912, concerning his European travels; diaries and student course notebooks; and family genealogical materials, such as a daguerreotype and letters. Botanical materials include 12 field notebooks and other plant collection records; general botanical notes relating to Gray Herbarium and several other topics; notes on New England, South Carolina and Grand Manan flora; manuscripts pertaining to ferns; manuscripts, notes and correspondence pertaining to nomenclature, 1919-1949, and Weatherby's research with Alfred Rehder; and general botanical correspondence, 1908-1947, mostly from his pre-Herbarium years or after his retirement.
