Mono Lake
Huell Howser travels to one of the oldest continuously existing lakes in the United States, Mono Lake, located in the eastern base of the Sierra Nevada mountains. One of the lake's unique features is its curious formations of calcium carbonate called tufa. Mono Lake's fragile ecosystem has been threatened by drought in recent years, yet it is still one of the most beautiful bodies of water in North America.
