A film version of George Eliot's epic novel which details the feud between the Tullivers, who own a mill on the River Floss in Lincolnshire, England, and the Wakems, who win a lawsuit over the Tullivers regarding water rights. The plot centers around Wakem's son, Philip, who falls in love with the Tulliver's daugher, Maggie and her vindicitive brother who's determined to keep the feud alive and Philip and Maggie apart.
