Junta, a semi-wild mountain girl of the Italian Dolomites is regarded as a witch by the village people. A wandering artist falls in love with her and follows her to her home. He discovers the mystery of "the Blue Light" and reveals her secret. When Junta finds her sanctuary violated, she loses the joy of life and chooses to die.
