http://schema.org/description

  • "This document reports on a study commissioned by the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) to compare the impact of different building code requirements across Canada on the cost and relative performance of accessory apartments in houses. Accessory apartments are second housing units in a private home usually used as rental apartments. The CMHC study had five main objectives: to identify key issues and relevant code provisions affecting construction of accessory apartments; to collect information about code requirements in different jurisdictions; to compare the code requirements based on level of performance; to compare the code requirements based on costs of compliance; and to assess the relative impacts of different building and fire code provisions. The report lists the key findings and includes case study examples.--Includes text from document."
