The collection consists of correspondence and papers documenting CRIA's activities and collaboration with other commitees for the rescue of Florentine monuments, works of art, books and manuscripts damaged by the 1966 flood. Furthermore, a rich photographic documentation testifies not only to the damage suffered by Florentine's cultural heritage but also to an intense exchange amongst scholars of finer details on conducting restoration work. Series I., Palazzo Pitti office, and Series II., Villa I Tatti, are each divided into 2 subseries. Subseries A consists of administrative and financial documents, general correspondence and personnel files. Subseries B includes documents related to CRIA's activities and projects organized by location: Florence, Venice and a small section on Marche; and by project type: a) works of art; b) monuments; c) archives and libraries; d) museums.
