François Savoy (b.1621) immigrated from Turin, Italy to France (the section of Vienne and city of Loudin) to join Norman families who were immigrating to Port Royal, Acadia (later Nova Scotia) in 1643. He married Catherine Dejeune between 1651 and 1653. Descendants lived in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Québec and elsewhere. Some descendants were deported (as Acadians) to New York, New England, and elsewhere in the United States. Includes lists of Acadians who were deported in 1756 to Georgia (who later moved to New York, South Carolina and elsewhere, as well as lists of Acadians deported from Nova Scotia to Québec and elsewhere in Canada.
